Purpose of the Honorary Doctorate

The Honorary Doctorate is awarded to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of individuals who have made significant contributions to the advancement of theology, ministry, and community service. This prestigious honor is a testament to their dedication, influence, and impact in their respective fields.

Criteria for Nomination

Candidates for the Honorary Doctorate must meet the following criteria:

Requirements for Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree:

  1. Proven Ministry Experience: A minimum of 10 years of active and impactful ministry experience, demonstrating dedication, leadership, and contribution to the field of theology and Christian ministry.
  2. Recommendations: Submission of at least two written recommendations from individuals who can attest to the candidate’s character, leadership, and contributions to the church and community.
  3. Statement of Purpose: A written statement detailing the candidate’s vision, goals, and aspirations for continuing their ministry and theological impact in the future.
  4. Academic Record (Optional): Submission of academic transcripts from previous theological education institutions or relevant training programs.
  5. Interview: Successful completion of an interview with a panel of academic and ministry leaders from Kingdom Bible Institute & Theological Seminary, discussing the candidate’s ministry journey and contributions.
  6. Fee Payment: A non-refundable fee of 8,000 Ghanaian Cedis (GHC) to cover administrative expenses and contribute to the institution’s programs and initiatives.
  7. Ethical and Moral Standards: Affirmation of adherence to high ethical and moral standards consistent with Christian principles and values.

Nominations for the Honorary Doctorate can be submitted by members of the KBITS community, including faculty, alumni, and students, as well as leaders from the broader Christian community. The nomination process includes:

  1. Submission of Nomination: Complete the Honorary Doctorate Nomination Form, detailing the candidate’s achievements and contributions.
  2. Review and Selection: A committee of esteemed faculty and leaders will review the nominations and select the recipients based on the established criteria.
  3. Announcement and Ceremony: Recipients of the Honorary Doctorate will be announced and honored at a special ceremony hosted by KBITS.
